Hotel Information

Please note that the very same week there is a big medical congress taking place in Copenhagen. Therefore, many of the hotels are booked out already now and the remaining ones were not too keen on setting aside rooms. So my advice is to make the booking as soon as possible. Transportation should be less of a problem since the other event starts earlier.

Attendees can select a hotel in downtown Copenhagen, in Lyngby, or close to campus (north of Lyngby). Travel between downtown Copenhagen and the DTU campus takes approximately 30 minutes by public transportation. The DTU campus is a short bus ride from Lyngby. Finally, there are some hotels that are within a 20-minute walk of DTU.

A map of the campus is provided here. Finding a particular address is easiest on Eniro maps. To get around in Copenhagen public transport is usually the best option. The DSB Rejseplanen includes facilities to search for addresses and displays the route on a map.

Update on August 10:
Cab Inn and Fortunen seem to be full, The PhD rooms are full, Loeven offers only big rooms for more than 3 people
I keep the page as it is since some people might want to retireve the contact details from here - but there are no more rooms on hold. My suggestion is to try with Birkeroed or look for a Bed and Breakfast.


The following lists are in alphabetical order.

• Cab Inn City (Copenhagen, close to main station)
  Single room incl. breakfast 575 DKK, mention booking number 22384.
  Offer expires July 10th
  There are two more Cab Inns in Copenhagen, slightly further away from the station. They can be reached from the link above, too.
• Hotel Loeven(Copenhagen close to main station)
  I could not reserve rooms but they had more than 30 rooms left and they offer online booking with good cancellation policy. Single is 550DKK, including breakfast and private facilities.
• Hotel Sct. Thomas (Copenhagen)
  I could not reserve rooms but they had more than 20 rooms left. Single is 595DKK, double for 795DKK; both including breakfast and private facilities.
• Saga Hotel (Copenhagen)
  I could not reserve rooms but they had more than 10 rooms left but only double rooms which they rent out as singles for approx. 900DKK (they offer different room types and rates depending on the duration of the visit) including breakfast and private facilities.
• Danhostel Copenhagen City(Copenhagen, close to main station)
  This is an absolutely new a 5 star hostel in a place close to the lakes in the center of Copenhagen. The building used to be a hotel. They offer 4 bed bedrooms with private facilities which you can use as single or double room. Price per room is 480DKK. I asked them for booking code ECC, still waiting for confirmation.

• Hotel Postgaarden(Lyngby, close to station)
  Rooms at different levels, some with shared facilities, e.g. single with bathroom for 575 DKK.

• Fortunen (close to DTU)
  Nicely located at the entrance of the Erimitagen deer park but not default to reach by public transport from DTU. Walking time approx. 20 minutes. Single 600DKK, Double 775DKK both with own bathroom and breakfast. With shared facilities the prices are 400DKK for the single and 600DKK for the double. Mention ECC when booking or contact me to process the booking.
• There are a few PhD guest rooms on campus. Please contact me for booking. These are single or double rooms with shared facilities and access to kitchen. Rates depend on length of the stay. The highest is 250DKK for a double room if taken on a daily basis.

• Hotel Birkeroed (north of Copenhagen)
  Birkeroed is two more stops from Lyngby but has a direct connection to Copenhagen via the S-trains. Travel to DTU by public transport takes about the same time as from the city center, i.e. 30 min in total. Single with own bathroom and breakfast for 790DKK. Mention booking code ECC - 200509.
• Skovshoved Hotel (Charlottenlund, at the sea not far from Lyngby)
  Rooms with sea view, breakfast and private facilities. Single 1400DKK, Double 1600DKK.
  Rooms are set aside till June 9. Please mention ECC when booking the rooms.
• DANHOSTEL Lyngby-Tårbæk Vandrerhjem
  is not far from DTU, located at the north of Erimitagen deer park. This is a much more basic hostel compared to the City Hostel but is housed in a nice historic building. Travel to DTU by public transport takes approx. 25 minutes.
