Tom Høholdt (M'93) was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, on April 26, 1945. He received the M.Sc. degree in mathematics from the University of Copenhagen in 1968.
He is Professor at the Department of Mathematics at the Technical University of Denmark, Lyngby. His research interests include coding theory, signal analysis, sequence design, and other areas of applied (discrete) mathematics. He became Fellow of IEEE in 2000 and received in the same year G.A.Hagemann's goldmedal for engineering research.
Tom Høholdt has served as Associate Editor for Coding Theory for the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INFORMATION THEORY. He is a co-author of the paper that received the IEEE Information Theory Society 1991 Best Paper Award.
