Abstract

We investigate the influence of the idle region for a thin window junction on its static behaviour which is shown by the characteristic curves of the maximum critical current versus the extenally applied magnetic field. This system reduces to a one dimensional integro-differential equation. The numerical solution of the non-local equation shows that the existence of the idle region introduces a new effective length, which depends on its size. The solution differs considerably from the known sine-Gordon soliton, while the Ic - H curves with inline and overlap current feed change significantly.
